The 2026 edition of 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen has now come to a close, marking three days filled with creativity, innovation, and vibrant cultural exchange. Throughout the festival, the cityโs showrooms, galleries, and popโup spaces welcomed a continuous flow of visitors โ from international architects and designers to local enthusiasts โ creating a lively atmosphere that underscored the eventโs growing global influence.
Lighting design emerged as one of the most talkedโabout highlights. Exhibitors showcased bold retro colors inspired by the 1970s, alongside modular systems and refined finishes that allowed for both subtle integration and striking visual statements. This yearโs theme, Make This Moment Matter, resonated strongly in the lighting sector, encouraging purposeful design that balances aesthetics, wellbeing, and sustainability.
AโNโD has unveiled its first European flagship showroom, a natural extension of its presence in Vancouver, now coโexisting with Copenhagen. The debut unfolds across multiple floors in an exhibition titled North Quarters, where layers of Canadian design are revealed through a curated mix of timeless collections and the latest additions.
During 3daysofdesign 2026, BOMMA unveiled its unique installation Fragments of Light within the extraordinary interiors of the newly renovated Court Theatre (Hofteatret) โ a historic 18thโcentury venue that had recently reopened after five years of restoration. To honor the location, the presentation returned to its theatrical roots with live performances created specifically for the event.
BROKIS presented its lighting collections in the striking setting of the Odd Fellow Palace in the heart of Copenhagen. At the same time, FRAMING curated a joint exhibition at a spectacular venue, showcasing exclusive design brands and their latest novelties in an inspiring way. Among the installations were BROKISโ new products for 2026, including Arcade, Starcloud, and Under Pressure, displayed alongside the Knot and Dome Nomad collections featured within the Walter Knoll exhibition.
Deltalight joined 3daysofdesign with a collaborative installation created together with Belgiqa and guided by Nicolas Schuybroek Architects. Drawing inspiration from minimalist art, the scenography formed a hybrid pavilionโroom where light, materiality, and presence converged. Alongside this installation, Deltalight unveiled Lunelle, a new lighting object that balanced the delicacy of porcelain with the precision of metal, exploring a softer architectural expression through texture, diffusion, and a warm, tactile glow.
At the Martin Asbรฆk Gallery in central Copenhagen, Flos presented its newest collections of decorative lamps including the Nocturne series. Meanwhile, the permanent Flos showroom at Kuglegรฅrdsvej 15 also welcomed the public during 3daysofdesign, offering a comprehensive display of the latest innovations across the Decorative, Architectural, and Outdoor divisions.
At the Louis Poulsen Gallery, visitors were taken on an explorative journey into the intricate universe of Poul Henningsen and his iconic System PH lighting design and philosophy. Using his distinctive mathematical approach to light as the investigative starting point, the brand reflected on illumination as a physical materialโsomething that could be shaped to define spaces and alter perceptions.
Tokio. presented a spatial installation in collaboration with glass artist Elis Monsport, bringing together key pieces such as the UEBU Hachi composition, Mori shelving, the Totem table lamp, and a series of carbonโfiber lighting objects. Through the interplay of contrasting materialsโglass, carbon fiber, aluminum, and woodโthe installation explored how distinct elements coexisted within a unified spatial language.
Vibia presented a distinctive installation set within an exceptional space in Copenhagenโs historic centre. Located on Strรธgetโone of the cityโs most vibrant design districts and a site of historical significanceโthe exhibition unfolded across both indoor and outdoor environments. Conceived as an immersive experience, it explored light as an integral part of architecture and everyday life, inviting visitors to engage with Vibiaโs vision through a carefully crafted, atmospheric journey. The installation was curated by Note Design Studio.
YAMAGIWA made its debut at 3daysofdesign with a quiet world shaped by gradation and pauseโwhere light was sensed as presence, and shadow gave it room to breathe. Rooted in Japanese craftsmanship, the exhibition drew attention to moments often left unspoken: the way nuance took shape through restraint, and how atmosphere was formed not by emphasis but by balance.
The steady visitor traffic and enthusiastic engagement demonstrated how 3daysofdesign has evolved into a key platform for spotting lighting trends and shaping contemporary design culture. As the festival concluded, it left behind not only memorable installations but also a clear signal of where design โ and lighting in particular โ is heading in the years to come.
